In collaboration with carbon fibre experts Carbitex, a first-of-its-kind lightweight carbon fibre hiking pad has been developed to mould to the sailors leg utilising asymmetric flex profiles. Included in the batten set is a small batten pusher used to set the velcro closure. Essential bit of kit. Check Youtube for the correct way to use it.

I’m new to sailing but as in all sports, hobbies, pastimes/leisure time pursuits etc that I take up and participate in, I’ve always had the same attitude and method, with regard to when it comes to the research and purchase of the correct gear… in that I buy the best that I can at the best price i.e buy it once and it will last; without the need (when buying a lesser quality item), to find that that you’d actually like to upgrade…

It’s really good you can get a spare for this because often you only lose this bit! It’s a much cheaper option and comes quickly.
