Zhik PowerPads - Lightweight Carbon Fibre Hiking Pad

Purchased to replace my old version Zhik hiking pads. These are much better, more stable and fix in the position you want them to. Not cheap, but I am sure will give plenty of good service. Worked really well with some Zhik neoprene shorts on a warm day.

Having only used these a couple of times, they are much improved over the previous version. There’s less movement and slipping. With the previous set I found you had to wear an over short to hold them in place. No need with these. I found them to be a lot more comfortable too. In terms of stiffness, they are again much improved over the previous generation. I’ve found them more supportive on the deck, and maybe since my old ones are older they’ve lost some stiffness, and therefore support, I noticed that I was higher off the surface of the water.
Last thing, size. I opted to go for the medium over the large. Thank god I did. Although the recommended size for my thigh was a large, I found the medium had enough stretch. I do wonder if, when wet, that the larger size would have moved around on my thigh more.
Anyhow, really pleased with my purchase. And with the super speedy delivery too.

It does a great job at spreading out the pressure on your upper legs compare to other brands

I bought these for my son who sails the laser 4.7. His last pads had virtually disintegrated attached to the shorts from overuse. He was attracted to these as he loves his Zhik 360 boots and felt they would be well worth the investment performance wise.
We weren’t so sure of the fit as they had to be comfortable around his leg. He loved the quality and feel of them and was happy with the medium as he wears a medium wetsuit. He sailed club racing in them and can’t wait for this weekend to try them out at a bigger event.

Excellent service. Fast delivery and a great price for an elusive item that I was struggling to get hold of! These pads are definitely thinner than the ‘normal’ PowerPads and I think they will be much easier to use since they don’t need Velcro tightening, they just slide on!

These pads fit... they don't slide around. I get a lot of confidence from them. I feel very connected to the boat.
I can just sit out and concentrate on boat speed.
I've worn them twice now and they just feel right
