Rope handles are great if you want a bit more grip on control lines, or if you want something larger to grab hold of during your next on the water manoeuvre. Rope handles are very simple and quick to make, here are some simple steps to follow.
Set your control line to its slackest setting that you will use whilst sailing. This is so you know how much rope you have for your handle and your furthest out position will be at the knot.
Create a slip knot about 5cm from the cleat that the rope goes through.
Create a loop then fold the free end over and push t through a few centimetres.
Pull the two ropes with arrows tight before creating the next loop.
About 5cm down from the slip knot push the body of the rope just thought the slip knot. (Make sure there is just enough line so you can push the rope through again.)
Make sure to tighten each loop as you go along. 👇
Keep pushing rope though and pulling tight until you have 10 to 15 cm of rope left.
Repeat step 3 until you have 10 to 15cm of rope left.
Pass the free end through the loop and pull tight.
Tie a bowline.
Some control lines may require an extra meter or so of rope depending on if your boat has been set up for rope handles or bowlines.

The sole is not as thick as it would appear from the photos but seem to be perfectly good for the usual limited shore walking.
